Beneficiaries

It’s a good idea to review your beneficiaries whenever your life changes. And if you choose voluntary life insurance for your spouse or child or family AD&D coverage, you'll automatically be their beneficiary.

What You Need to Do

A beneficiary is someone (or something like a trust or estate) you choose to receive benefits from your life insurance, retirement accounts, and other plans when you’re gone. Here’s a quick snapshot of how to update or choose your beneficiaries by benefit.

Designate Your Beneficiary

If you don't choose a beneficiary, your benefits (like life insurance or retirement accounts) will follow the plan's default, potentially causing delays, complications, or distributions that don't match your wishes.
